About the Features and Applications of Hawach PTFE Filter Membrane

Known as screen or sieve, filter membranes are a kind of micro-porous plastic membrane which have specific pore size ratings. Filter membranes can retain particles or microorganisms which are larger than the filter pore size through surface capture. And the particles which are smaller than the stated pore size may be retained by other containers.

The key factor in controlling evaporation or removal of the complex solvent is the porous structure on the filter membranes, Both hydrophilic and hydrophobic PTFE is made by a special process where the membranes are stretched biaxially to form the porous structure.

PTFE filter membrane is made of polytetrafluoroethylene ultrafine fibers which are hot-melted and bonded together. Made of food-grade isotactic polypropylene as raw material, it is a kind of membrane material for deep filtration. There are no additives in the process; the physical and chemical properties are stable and with good compatibility; it has a series of pore sizes, with high porosity, large dirt holding capacity, backflushing, high-temperature disinfection, and good pressure resistance.

Hawach PTFE filter membrane has a smooth surface, light and thin texture, with high porosity, and uniform micropore structure, so it has the characteristics of fast flow rate and is not easy to adsorb. It can be hydrophilic and hydrophobic. Hydrophilic PTFE filter membrane is mainly used for flue gas filtration of various industrial furnaces such as chemical industry, steel, metallurgy, carbon black, power generation, cement, garbage incineration, etc.

Main features of PTFE filter membrane

It is isotropic, regardless of front and back, which can play a role in intercepting solid particles above the rated pore size and belongs to the terminal filter membrane. After treatment with ethanol or isopropanol, it becomes a hydrophilic membrane.

Thermal stability: heat sterilization at 120 degrees for 30 minutes, with good thermal stability.
Chemical stability: It can filter various liquids of PH2-13, and can also filter instrument oil, 5% acetic acid, 6n sulfuric acid, 6n potassium hydroxide, absolute ethanol, glycerin, methanol, n-propanol, alcohol guide, partial Trioctyl stearate, polyethylene glycol, various alcohols, beverages, vinegar, etc.

Weather resistance: there is the best-aging life in plastic.
High lubrication: the lowest friction coefficient of solid materials, only 0.01
Non-tacky: it is the smallest surface tension in solid materials and does not adhere to any substance.
Non-toxic: it is physiologically inert and has no adverse effects when implanted as artificial blood vessels and organs for a long time.
Insulation: PTFE has a low dielectric constant and dielectric loss in a wide frequency range, and its breakdown voltage, volume resistivity, and arc resistance are high.

PTFE filter membrane application
